Location is central in a charming, if touristy, market town. Small number of parking places available, owner gave us ours without charge, probably because he sensed that we were not satisfied with our room.

We stayed here five years ago, and felt then that it was run-down, but with a little refurbishment, it had the potential to be a charming stopover. It seems that nothing has changed: the reception was grim, our room shoehorned into the eaves of the old stable block was for contortionists only. We stayed for one night only en route from Spain, any longer could seriously ruin a holiday.

      • Older travelers

Loved the historic room with sprial staircase, overlooking the courtyard. Evening meal was very good. Breakfast reasonable. Excellent location in the town centre with locked carpark.

Drinks in the courtyard were somewhat overpriced.

      • Older travelers

Broken shower, broken lavatory, rotton fruit for breakfast, dirty room with wall paper falling off the wall, power plug not functioning, parking very difficult, unpleasant and unwelcomming staff, failure to answer emails in summary :Ghastly.

      • Older travelers

Great atmosphere amazing furnishings great balcony good food and service good parking great location

      • Older travelers

Friendly staff, excellent central location in very attractive small town with very historic features

Old-style inn/hotel with access to and in some bedrooms a bit difficult.

The hall porter was extremely helpful with the car parking and carrying my bags up to my room when I arrived and out to the car after my stay. The room was adequate - I was travelling on my own to Le Havre from the South and needed to stop off for the night. The hotel's location was very convenient and attractive in the middle of the old town. The bed was comfortable and clean. The lock-up car park was very good. I liked the old-fashioned feeling of the hotel and hope to return with my husband some time.

The room was rather dingy and needed re-decorating. The shower room was only just big enough - I had to sit sideways on the wc - and rather public as tit was by the window to the street and there no curtain or door to it. The receptionist was fairly polite but not friendly and argued with me when I made a complaint about the broken curtain rings and dirty state of the shower room floor. Although I was alone, she didn't ask if I needed dinner, although there was room in the restaurant when I arrived but when I wanted to eat there later there was no table available.

      • Older travelers

Welcoming staff, city center location, extremely helpful road signs to direct to location and parking, charming courtyard, reasonably priced.

We were in room 11, up a spiral outdoor staircase, with two levels in the room, sleeping in a loft-like area. While I found the bed comfortable and the lighting fine, the room arrangement was inconvenient, and a bit cramped. Since I use a cane I would have liked to know climbing all those stairs was required.

      • Older travelers

We were travelling to the port, and Loches was a half way point to saty.

The parking was difficult to find. The hotel was very old fashioned, and the restaurant closed for dinner.

      • Older travelers

The hotel has great charm and is characterful. It is perfectly situated for exploring Loches and its environs. Although we had alternative dining arrangements, the dining room looked equisite! However, access to some rooms is via a narrow spiral staircase which was fine for us but could be difficult for those with mobility issues and our room was on two levels.

      • Family with children

Excellent location and within easy walking distance of the medieval town. Some may find the rooms quirky as they are on two floors with the bathroom below and the bedroom on a mezzanine floor, however we found this delightful. Excellent breakfast.

      • Older travelers

central location in loches, close to amenities, good range of restaurants nearby, We were staying only for one night whist en route to elsewhere,so the hotel was ideal for our purpose. Interesting building and room layout and friendly staff.Would return.

      • Older travelers

Superb location right in the heart of the medieval city.Full of character and a bit quirky

Very small toilet squeezed into corner of room. A beam in the ceiling was literally inches away from your head when in bed!
